Liebster Awards + 64 Followers

It's my day off work... yaaayy... so I can finally do another post... about time yes I know, it's been about 3 weeks if not more.. sooooorrrryyyy... To make up for that here's a picture of a sloth giving a little girl a hug

Anyways, I've been nominated for two Liebster awards which means a lot to me... I'd just like to thank my mum and dad for making me and providing me with food and shelter, my friends for being there for me and inspiring some of my posts, and I'd like to thank myself for working my frickin butt off to make money to buy this laptop that I use to blog... thank you Lis, thank you...

ok seriously though I didn't want to make this post long (which it probably will be) so I'll cut to the chase.. it seems pretty straight forward but knowing me I'll probably fail somehow

Firstly I'd like to thank Mary- http://littlefeatherstyle.blogspot.co.uk/ and Rolana- http://www.ohsewfashion.com/ for their lovely nominations...THAAAANKSS GIRLIES (I don't know how to embed the address so if anyone does so it makes my post look nicer then let me know)

11 Random facts about myself

1. I'm scared of butterflies... I can't help it, especially the ones that look like they have eyes omgawsshhh I'm shuddering at the thought!
2. I have a twin bro, he is lovely, he's called Brian (bonus fact: my older brother and sister are twins too... woop woop well done mum n pa!)
3. I eat about 6 bowls of cereal for breakfast... normally a rotation of bran flakes, coco pops, rice crispies, crunchy nut and cheerios.. but I had to cut it down because...well because I'm guessing that can't be good for you
4. My camera's name is Xavier and my phone's name is Aubrey-Blake.. my laptop doesn't have a name though because I don't like him enough :-( I know... mean right, I might just name him now for hurting his feelings
5. I hate whispering... like seriously hate it
6. A teacher once called me a cackling witch, that wasn't very nice.... but to be fair I was laughing at her, actually, no, no I wasn't! My friend threw a tennis ball at her head (by accident, he was aiming for his friend) and he looked so scared that he was going to get into trouble so I was laughing at that (and a bit at her)
7. My favourite item of clothing is my onesie(s), whoever invented them is a genius
8. I cried watching the chipmunks, despicable me, and happy feet (and I walked out 15 minutes after happy feet started because it upset me too much.... wow... that's embarrassing) . 11. I want 3 dogs and a rabbit when I get my own place

and now for me to answer specific questions... brace yourselves, there's gonna be 22 of them...

Firstly Mary's :-)

1. What made you start blogging? Not to sound cheesy but I wanted to change someone's life. Not in a massive way but there's so much negativity in this world and so many people out there don't have someone they can talk to or any positivity around them so I kinda wanted to be that person. If someone could read a post and that makes them smile, or teaches them something new then I feel I've succeeded. I've seen some blogs and I literally feel inspired so I thought why not. Also, my lovely friend Sam has been blogging for a while so she said go for it. Which I did. Yay
2. What do you love most about blogging? I like the fact that I'm comfortable in this little environment I've made for myself. I like the blogging community as a whole, there's so many lovely people you can talk to around the world <3
3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would that be? America, not sure which state yet but I want to move there in a few years, maybe New York, or Atlanta
4. Favourite item in your wardrobe? My onesie, hands down
5. Sweet or savoury? Savoury, and then sweet... you just can't have one without the other!
6. What would your dream job be? A successful actress
7. What is your favourite colour? I don't think I have one, for technology maybe red and black, for cars black, for hair ginger or auburn, for eyes green or hazel, or blue... so yeh, that didn't answer your question at all.. *thumbs up*
8. Favourite fancy dress costume? I don't have one, but for my friend's birthday some years back you had to dress up as something with the first letter of your surname... I dressed up as an Orangutan's mother.... I could have just been an orangutan.. or an orange. Shows how clever I am ¬_¬
9. Which is your favourite season: spring, summer, autumn or winter? Spring probably, the sun can be very annoying for me during summer
10. Favourite band? I really don't have a constant one
11. What is your star sign? Gemini :-)

Now Rolana's :-) (some of the questions might be the same... such is life)

1. What is your dream job? A successful actress, or Michael Fassbender's pillow
2. What is the reason behind your blog name? I like moustaches, and I like the words moustache and petite
3. Going to an island, what are the 3 beauty products you would take? Whichever ones are edible.. that being said, if they're edible then they would be gone in about 5 minutes so I'd just say soap, moisturiser, and a sandwich (it can be used as a beauty product....somehow..if it's got cucumbers in it)
4. Favourite way to spend your free time? Eating, or the cinema... whilst eating
5. If you had 3 wishes, what would they be? 1st one would be for an unlimited supply of wishes... BOOM GOTCHA!! The next 2 shouldn't really matter seeing as I now have an UNLIMITED supply!
6. Favourite item of clothing in your wardrobe? My onesie

(it's a duck!!)

7. If you could travel anywhere, where would it be? Somewhere with a nice clean beach and cute dogs everywhere
8. Favourite place to shop? Haha, EBAY!!
9. Lipstick or lipgloss... and what's your favourite colour? Lipstick, I don't really like my lips shiny, I like dusty pink shades, or dark reds
10. Who is your favourite fashion designer? Whoever came up with the onesie, no joke.
11. What do you think of my blog? I'm very partial to it, that's why I'm following :-)... I think I wrote some sort of essay on how I loved your blog and I wanted to give you a virtual hug so that pretty much sums it up

 I'm nominating......

2. What is your favourite beauty product?
3. Why did you start blogging
4. What does your blog represent? (as in a make-up lovers dream? random ramblings etc)

8. What item that you own means the most to you and why?
9. Do you have a special talent?
10. What do you aspire to be?
11. I think this is the most important question... what's your favourite food?

and lastly I'd like to thank all my beautiful 64 followers for following my blog, it means a lot to me, and I know there are blogs with 1,000,000,000+ followers but it's not really about the number for me, it's about the fact that people are actually interested in what I have to say. So thank you... here's a picture of two adorable labrador puppies

My pleasure :-)

Face Of The Day (FOTD)

I'm literally about to leave my house to go to work (by literally, I mean, after I've eaten/wasted a few more minutes doing nothing) and I felt really bad for not posting in a while... so here's a quick Face Of The Day because I haven't done one before and thought might as well

It's going to be brief because I don't wear a lot of make-up... and that's not necessarily because I don't need it.... it's more on the lines of PURE LAZINESS/BEING A CHEAPSKATE... I spend/ waste too much money on my mascara/lipstick habit that I don't really want to get into the whole foundation/primer/concealer business... I don't think my mind or bank balance can take it...and also if you are wondering about the state of my eyebrows... as my good friend Miley Cyrus said [they] "can't be tamed"!

Face: Sleek blush in colour 749: Fenberry, Sleek blush limited edition 769:Honour
Eyes: Sleek face contour kit in 886:Dark (Yes you read that right, when I can't be bothered to look for my eyeshadow I use the lighter shimmery side of the palette..and that's pretty much all the time)
L'Oreal Paris Super Liner: Black Lacquer
L'Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Mascara: Extra Black
Lips: Collection 2000 Cream Puff Moisturising Lip Cream in Fairy Cake

Kay, hope that didn't put you off your breakfast/lunch/brunch
If anyone has any recommendations on a CHEAP, I repeat CHEAP concealer/primer whatever (not foundation, I'm not even gonna go there) then let me know....also, if you would like me to do more of these posts, which I doubt, then HOLLLLLAAAA!

I'll be doing another post really soon because I've got my first Liebster award... YAAAYY!!... I'm actually really excited about it, I feel like I've won an Oscar or something!

Toodles for now :-)

I don't care if that converts to £56.4688 (thanks currency converter)...for me it's just too much... and yes, maybe that is because I am the biggest cheapskate I know, I just can't do it....maybe when my bank balance is more like Miley Cyrus's and less like..well your typical penniless student, I'll treat myself

My Top 5 Beauty Products

Well heeeelllllloooooooo there! Long time no speak! I'm pretty sure that my lack of posting is now a defining characteristic of my blog so yaayy... go me and my failures!

I'll cut to the chase... here's a look at 5 of my favourite beauty products at the moment

1:Kiko Lip Pencil £2.50 - I bought this recently because, well honestly I bought it because I wanted the NARS matt lip pencil but didn't want to spend so much money- this was the nearest I got to the shade I had wanted.
I pretty much wear this every day; I love the shade, I love how easy it is to put on, and I love how smooth the texture is... and it's cheap, WINNING!

2: Tea Tree Facial Cleanser/Toner £2.99- I never used to cleanse because I didn't actually know what cleansing was (why do I embarrass myself like this), but then my best friend told me that it's really good for your skin and I should start doing it so I did. I've always been a fan of tea tree so this seemed like the best option. It's so good, it removes all traces of make-up and dirt from my face (believe me, that cotton bud does not end the same colour as it began). My skin has improved a lot since using it, it looks fresher; I mean I don't necessarily sparkle in the sunlight like Edward Cullen, but it's made a good difference.

3: Dolce and Gabbana: The One 50ml Eau de parfum £54- I'm in love with this fragrance; it smells like joy. The scent is strong lasts all day. I actually feel really womanly when I wear this scent, it gives me a little confidence boost

4: L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara £10.99- This mascara have an unbreakable friendship. It's reliable, never letting me and my eyelashes down, never flaking(PUN ALERT!)... But seriously, this is in my top 5 mascara lists which I may as well make a post on actually. My lashes are curly and not as long as I would like them to be but this mascara actually adds impressive length to them. Doesn't clump, doesn't dry, and it separates the lashes as well as adding length.

5: Sleek Limited 2012 Edition Honour Blush- £4.29- I've never really been into powder blushes because I've never found a shade I thought looked natural on my complexion(didn't look that far though), and I was sceptical about the coverage. I frickin love this blush! Seriously. I've stocked up on this baby, so has my mum actually because we thought it was only going to be around for the olympics... they lied, it's still here. The shade suits my skin tone, and makes me look naturally flushed and glowy. I love the pigmentation, it's strong yet natural; this is my go to guy whenever I go out.

One more for luck? Yeh, I have to mention this because I love it so.

6. Sleek Limited Edition Matte Lipstick in Cranberry (came as a set for £9.99)- I don't usually wear bold lip colours unless it's Ruby Woo... I don't know why, I just hadn't found the right shade, or a shade I was brave enough to wear. I had however been looking for a matte dark red lipstick; I had found some that were the perfect shade but too shiny- Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Black Cherry- or, they were unflattering... This lipstick was part of a 3 piece limited edition set, which came with a thick lip pencil, and a blush (which I use them all), and came in a beautiful cranberry shade.
The texture is perfect, matte, but not too dry, I really do like the colour too, it's dark but not menacing, and if I want it darker I can just blend it with a darker lip pencil.

Does anyone have any of these products? Or any better ones actually cause I like trying new stuff :-)

"Real Women Have Curves".

So, well firstly, hiiiii guyss!!! As per usual I haven't done a post in a while, I've been busy working, sleeping, eating, working, eating, eating and eating some more. This lovely eating pattern of mine has unsurprisingly resulted in weight gain... woop woop!! I'm not fussed really, the way I see it is, if I'm unhappy with my weight gain then lose the weight..

                                                     PREACH SISTAA!!!

Anyway, whilst browsing t'internet/magazines etc I've come across heaps of articles, interviews, quotations discussing female weight and what is deemed "feminine", "attractive" and so on. I'm writing this post based on the specific quote that's been flung around by many women (and men also, but I'm talking about women in particular) in one way or another. That quote being

"REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES!"

I'm not going to go into depth as to how I feel about this because I'm hoping you guysies will have your say on this size zero/weight/appearance debate; I really want to know what you all think about it. I personally find that a lot of those who say this haven't really thought of what they are stating completely, and to some extent I find this quote insulting.

Here's briefly why(Here's why briefly... briefly here's why.. can those words be used as a singular sentence??) Whatever; here's why: I feel it completely undermines women who don't have natural curves, those who are naturally slim/skinny, or those who have lost weight and lost their "curves"; does this mean that they are not "real women"? If they're not women, then what are they? Men?

Question: Is Crystal Renn less of a woman now she has lost weight? I'm not going to lie, I much preferred her look beforehand but that's not what I'm asking.

It just grates on me a little; personally, I think curves are very attractive, if I had my way I would be way more curvier, but I'm not so whatever, but that doesn't mean that females who are slim/athletic built are any way less womanly or feminine. I just think that people are so concerned with political correctness surrounding obesity or overweight-ness, but tend to forget about the other side of the spectrum.... maybe that's just me...

What do you all think?

Review :Max Factor Eye Brightening Mascara

Yes I'm aware, I haven't posted in a while...I've been working so much recently, my free time has consisted of sleeping, eating, or eating whist sleeping... I call it sleeating..

Anyway, I'm a big fan of mascara, will be doing an epic mascara post soon but for now, this is a quick review on Max Factor's Eye Brightening Mascara

I've been chasing around for the Covergirl Eyelights Mascara for a while, but haven't been able to get my hands on it; so when this replica hit the shops, I was pretty much on it like bees on honey! Both claim to achieve the same thing which is basically to "enhance" your eye's natural colour with customised "gem toned colour beads" for brown, hazel, green, or blue eyes. The "light reflecting particles" supposedly brighten your actual eyes too.
CovergirlMax Factor

Firstly, the packaging: Not much to say; I am quite partial to it, it looks pretty... the eyes on the tube are pretty too. I was disappointed that they didn't have any extra information about how this mascara actually enhances eye colour but such is life.

The brush: I was impressed with the brush; the bristles were long enough and weren't too close together so it actually did separate my eyelashes no matter how many coats I used. I think this is one of my favourite mascara brushes.

The formula: I'm torn between whether I like it or not. On one hand it seemed a bit too thick and dry for me, but on the other hand, that may have made my eyelashes look more intense. I'm not sure, I think if it were slightly more liquid I would love it more. Makes it less prone to clumping

Before and afters:

Before

After

Does it work?: It definitely made my eyelashes look longer and more voluminous which I loved!  Even after one coat they looked longer and fuller. I only applied around 3 coats, could have kept going but it was hot, and I was getting impatient so I stopped at 3. As for the "enhancing natural eye colour", and "light reflecting particles" ... uh... yeh... that's a pile of tosh! Absolutely no reflection taking place, and no, it didn't brighten my eyes. To be honest I don't understand how that would work anyway; what exactly is being reflected where?? I'm guessing that's why there is hardly any information on the packaging because there's no science behind it. Also, if you do want to try this out, you're better off sticking some glitter eyeshadow in your mascara (old trick).
And my brown eye colour wasn't enhanced whatsoever, again, there's no explicit science behind it, maybe it works better for those with green, hazel, or blue eyes, because the mascaras are varied colours. Mine was plain black. They can call it whatever; "black pearl", "tonal black" whatever it was but what's that saying? A spade is a spade.. and plain black mascara is...well, plain black mascara

I would recommend this for those with short, sparce, or thin lashes

Overall, I am pleased with how my eyelashes looked after application, to me personally it did make quite a big difference. I usually wear eyeliner but since getting this mascara, haven't felt the need for it. It's easy to apply, separated and lengthened my lashes, which I love.... As for the whole "eye enhancing" jargon.... well...personally, I think it's a bunch of nonsense. If you want a really good value mascara for dramatic lashes then this is certainly up your street; however, if you want a magic eye illuminating, colour popping, light reflecting mascara then I suggest you look elsewhere...or stick a torch behind your eye sockets.

At the moment it's only £4.99 as an introductory offer in both Boots and Superdrug so if you want to test it out, now is the time. Let me know what you think of it, it might work for other eye colours
