Review: Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara

Just thought I'd start by mentioning the fact that I went to the gym twice today...BOOYAAAH!!

Helllllllllooooooooooooooooo my beautiful people! Hope all is well... I haven't done a review in a while so I thought I may as well do one on this awesome mascara I bought today....It was my day off and I was bored so I decided to browse some shops, actually no, scrap that. It was my day off and I was bored, but I already had in mind that I wanted to go and check out some mascaras, just didn't know which one. So guess where I went to; Superdrug? No. Boots? No my dear. Sephora? We don't have that here so no..actually we might, I dunno, that was the only other place I could think of. But no, I didn't go there anyway so I don't know why I just waffled on about it for a bajillion years. I went to Wilko (Wilkinsons) aka: The Narnia of everything; they have the make-up brand Essence which to my knowledge we don't have any solo stores in the Uk.

So, onto the mascara...

I actually bought two but I don't like the other one so I might just put that in a separate review. This one is called "Lash Princess- False lash effect mascara". The product claims that the "conic" shape of the brush "provides lashes with length and dramatic volume as well as false-lash effect"

Did it lie? No

Your Honour I believe my subject is talking nonsense.

Ahhh... I thought you would say such. Let me refer you to EXHIBIT A:

No mascara:

EXHIBIT B: After one coat of mascara:

EXHIBIT C: After 3 coats, and then about a bajillion more

Your Honour, I rest my case.....

No but seriously, I think this is my new favourite mascara...and by "I think" I mean "I know".... Quick Pros and Cons

Pros: Thick formula grips onto lashes
Actually lengthens and adds volume at the same time
          Really good brush
I can't tell if I like the packaging or not, it's kind of cute and kind of cheap looking at the same time. But I like the lid so yeh.
Le price: This baby cost me £2.30... SAY WHAAAAAT?? Yes milady, two pounds and thirty pence, I think we all know that's a bargain.

Cons: Not waterproof which means that panda eyes are a risk (if you plan on wearing it to the gym, or crying...don't know why you would plan to cry but whatever)
Too many coats leads to spider lashes

Overall rating: 8/10

Review: Best Beauty Buy Of 2013!!!

No, I'm not lying...this is the BEST beauty buy I have bought all year both in value and ahhmazingness

Before I start, you need to know two things about me
1. I am INCREDIBLY cheap
2. I like variety (this will make more sense as you read on)

Let's get the ball rolling..so, I have been searching far and wide for a nice new lip colour, preferable a lip pencil...I saw a bunch of different ones, Rimmel had a few nice ones but I didn't feel their shades suited me...Sleek had a bunch of nice shades but I didn't want to pay £4.99 for one lip pencil (refer back to point #1)..and the Natural Collection lip pencils were only £2 each, but I didn't like their shades or the texture much

So.

What did I do? Where did I turn to?

EBAY!!!!! Yeeeeehhhh Buddy!!!

Just have a gander at this fabulousness...

Here are all 12 swatches (please ignore my unattractive dry looking hand)

These are my top 6 shades (in no particular order)...please excuse the shoddy lighting, it wasn't very bright outside so had to use unnatural lighting. Also, the shades don't have a name, they're just numbered so I'll make up my own

1. Nude

2. Barbie Pink

3. Deep Plum

4. Burnt Orange

   5. Oxblood

           and lastly

6. Ruby Woo "dupe"

Like every product, there will always be pros and cons so it's only fair to list them both:

Pros: * The colours are stunning, and has a wide variety of shades
          * Love the matte finish
          * Long lasting
          * Ridiculously good value for money

Cons: * My favourite shades are bound to run out soon so I'll have to buy another set (but that's not really a con now is it?)
            * The slightly dry texture means you have to apply lip balm before putting it on
            * Certain shades need to be built up

So after all this, guess how much it cost....go on....

Ok, I'll give you three options...now be realistic here there are 12 of these epic lip pencils

A) £15.99
B) £2.59
C) £8.94

The answer is....B!!!! I know right, frickin epic!!!

Check it out, they've got even cheaper options:

Simple 2 Minute Summer Make-Up Looks

Oh haaii guyss....So, feeling full of energy after starting work at 7am with pretty much zero hours sleep, was supposed to nap when I got in but my neighbours are having a nice ol' shindig outside (it sounds really fun, not even being sarcastic either)so I thought I'd do a nice make-up post.
The weather has been pretty epic over the past few days so thought as well make it a Summer orientated post; also, it's so hot I doubt anyone will want to smother themselves in heaps of ye olde make-ups so I tried not to go OTT.

Here are a few simple looks that took about 2 minutes each (true story bro...maybe if I can discipline myself enough with this blog I'll make a video of my everyday routine)

Look 1: "Barely there": Everyday look

Look 2: "Doll eyes": Pretty much the same as barely there but more emphasis on the eyes

Ombre Lips

Hey girlies/guylies hope you've all had a blessed day

Well I was pretty bored today and thought I'd have a little experiment with some of my lippies, and seeing as ombre has been on trend lately... I thought why not?!

(photo from pinterest)

I did 3 types of ombre, they're quite subtle so I think they can be worn out without people thinking you have issues... to be honest, each to their own anyway, if someone wants to walk around with rainbow lips then that's their choice.. YO GO GLEN COCO!! (I know that quote is not really relevant but I felt it was more appropriate than "power to the people!") one dark red/red, and one dark pink/pink... I wish I had orange because that would make such an epic ombre.... guess that's going to be my next purchase then

Hope you likey

Note: I tried the gradient starting from my top lip and ending at the bottom but that just failed miserably... just looked like I don't know how to put lipstick on..took a pic anyway so you guys can have some giggles

Look 1: Sleek Cranberry Lip Pencil + MAC in Ruby Woo

(With flash)

I'm quite fond of this one, the last time I had a night out I had the same look... exhibit A

... just realised it's so hard to see because I'm smiling....clap clap Lis

Look 2: Sleek Cranberry Lip Pencil + MAC in Ruby Woo + Collection 2000 Cream Puff in Fairy Cake

(With flash)

Look 3: Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in One Of A Kind + Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Pink Blush + Collection 2000 Cream Puff in Fairy Cake

I'm not going to lie, I wouldn't go out with this last look on, for some reason I'm not that comfortable with all over pink on my lips... I find it a bit difficult because I don't use foundation or anything to set a base so it clashes a little with my "uneven" complexion....but I think I'm going to experiment and see how I can make it work. Going to try some more extreme versions too.

Do you guys have a favourite? Have you tried this look yourself?

My Top 5 Beauty Products

Well heeeelllllloooooooo there! Long time no speak! I'm pretty sure that my lack of posting is now a defining characteristic of my blog so yaayy... go me and my failures!

I'll cut to the chase... here's a look at 5 of my favourite beauty products at the moment

1:Kiko Lip Pencil £2.50 - I bought this recently because, well honestly I bought it because I wanted the NARS matt lip pencil but didn't want to spend so much money- this was the nearest I got to the shade I had wanted.
I pretty much wear this every day; I love the shade, I love how easy it is to put on, and I love how smooth the texture is... and it's cheap, WINNING!

2: Tea Tree Facial Cleanser/Toner £2.99- I never used to cleanse because I didn't actually know what cleansing was (why do I embarrass myself like this), but then my best friend told me that it's really good for your skin and I should start doing it so I did. I've always been a fan of tea tree so this seemed like the best option. It's so good, it removes all traces of make-up and dirt from my face (believe me, that cotton bud does not end the same colour as it began). My skin has improved a lot since using it, it looks fresher; I mean I don't necessarily sparkle in the sunlight like Edward Cullen, but it's made a good difference.

3: Dolce and Gabbana: The One 50ml Eau de parfum £54- I'm in love with this fragrance; it smells like joy. The scent is strong lasts all day. I actually feel really womanly when I wear this scent, it gives me a little confidence boost

4: L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara £10.99- This mascara have an unbreakable friendship. It's reliable, never letting me and my eyelashes down, never flaking(PUN ALERT!)... But seriously, this is in my top 5 mascara lists which I may as well make a post on actually. My lashes are curly and not as long as I would like them to be but this mascara actually adds impressive length to them. Doesn't clump, doesn't dry, and it separates the lashes as well as adding length.

5: Sleek Limited 2012 Edition Honour Blush- £4.29- I've never really been into powder blushes because I've never found a shade I thought looked natural on my complexion(didn't look that far though), and I was sceptical about the coverage. I frickin love this blush! Seriously. I've stocked up on this baby, so has my mum actually because we thought it was only going to be around for the olympics... they lied, it's still here. The shade suits my skin tone, and makes me look naturally flushed and glowy. I love the pigmentation, it's strong yet natural; this is my go to guy whenever I go out.

One more for luck? Yeh, I have to mention this because I love it so.

6. Sleek Limited Edition Matte Lipstick in Cranberry (came as a set for £9.99)- I don't usually wear bold lip colours unless it's Ruby Woo... I don't know why, I just hadn't found the right shade, or a shade I was brave enough to wear. I had however been looking for a matte dark red lipstick; I had found some that were the perfect shade but too shiny- Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Black Cherry- or, they were unflattering... This lipstick was part of a 3 piece limited edition set, which came with a thick lip pencil, and a blush (which I use them all), and came in a beautiful cranberry shade.
The texture is perfect, matte, but not too dry, I really do like the colour too, it's dark but not menacing, and if I want it darker I can just blend it with a darker lip pencil.

Does anyone have any of these products? Or any better ones actually cause I like trying new stuff :-)
