Lesson Of The Week: #1 Stop Trying To Please Everyone

Oh good gosh I've missed blogging so bad!! I know I always say this but I have been ridiculously busy over the past few weeks...I've started my part time evening acting classes again (just got home from one now), and I'm on a bigger contract at work, plus I had a showcase to rehearse for and perform so it's been hectic!

I just thought of another idea for a post, I may make this a regular thing depending on if you lovelies like it or not. It'll be every Sunday by Gods' grace and will just be a post on any lesson I've learnt, or want to share with you guys...can be about beauty, life, clothes, food, whatever.

So to start this series...is this classed as a series? Yeh, I think it is... anyway, to start this series of posts I give you...

Lesson 1: Stop trying to please everyone.

Yes this is a slightly random lesson to start on but I've been thinking about this a lot recently. It has taken me many many years to realise that you just can't please everyone, and the sooner you stop trying, the better. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying don't make people happy because to do that is one of the best feelings in the world, (aside from eating chocolate/chicken/crisps/bread/pasta/most food), but when you are compromising your own happiness for everyone else's you could be doing a disservice to yourself.

Here are 5 reasons why you need to stop trying to please everyone

1. Because you can't...it's impossible: There will always be someone who will not be satisfied with your best efforts and how far are you willing to go to satisfy them?
2. People may/will take advantage of you: If you allow them to, they will...and if you are blinded by the desire to please them, you won't notice when they do.
3. It's exhausting: It just is.
4. You will stop listening to your own needs, and take your happiness for granted
5. Because I said so. No but really, when it gets to the point that it is affecting your life for the worse, you need to stop.

Let me put this into context:

Let's say you are out with 4 of your friends...you told them all to bring some food with them because you're all going on a hike. They didn't. You have 2 pieces of chicken and you haven't eaten all morning because you were busy cleaning up the house as no-one else does, and were in a rush to pick your friends up in your car because they couldn't be bothered to drive. They all want a piece of your chicken although they ate earlier on, but you are starting to feel weak.....ok I really don't know where this is going...this sounds like some sort of maths equation. Fail. Anywaaayy, my point is

Sometimes you need to listen to those voices in your head and your heart, just do what makes you happy, and enjoy life. Like this adorable cat....I just wanted an excuse to put this cute picture up :-)
