An Open Letter To My Future Self

Hey ya'll,
do you still say that? Well I don't see why not, it's only 3 months since you wrote this. Firstly, looking good!! I see all that gymming and eating healthily is really paying off, see, who told you you couldn't do it??? Me? Oh, shame, my bad, well look, getting on a treadmill after an 8 hour shift isn't that exciting so you can't blame me can you? Well you didn't listen to me anyway so whatever... I see you've finally fixed up your hair as well, PRAISE JESUS!! Don't know how you thought it was acceptable to roam the streets looking like you slept in the mouth of a lion..with a cold.

Right now I'm sitting here eating too much chocolate and watching stuff on YouTube, I'm assuming you're doing something more useful like blogging, or learning something new, because that's what you wanted to do. I just thought I'd write you a little letter to say well done for getting through this all in one piece, I'm so proud of you for putting in the effort, and I can see your life is heading where you want it to be, and thank God for getting you through it. How's the guitar going? Have you bought one yet? If not, don't worry, there's still plenty of time....and the acting? Good to see you growing, soon you'll be on the big screen :-)

Anyways, I'm about to go to bed because I have to be up at 6, remember to keep on looking after your family and your loved ones, and don't waste your time comparing yourself to others. Also say hi to all your lovely followers, I see you've gained a couple more, yaayy..

Try and keep up with these 3 things:
1. Bless someone every day, doesn't matter if it's a big gesture or a tiny one, just do it because you don't know what people are going through
2. If you're not actually hungry, and you don't want it then don't eat's a really unhealthy and wasteful habit so stop doing it.
3. Stay positive and keep singing praises no matter what you may be going through, you will never be put through what you cannot handle

Bye bub

Review: Best Beauty Buy Of 2013!!!

No, I'm not lying...this is the BEST beauty buy I have bought all year both in value and ahhmazingness

Before I start, you need to know two things about me
1. I am INCREDIBLY cheap
2. I like variety (this will make more sense as you read on)

Let's get the ball, I have been searching far and wide for a nice new lip colour, preferable a lip pencil...I saw a bunch of different ones, Rimmel had a few nice ones but I didn't feel their shades suited me...Sleek had a bunch of nice shades but I didn't want to pay £4.99 for one lip pencil (refer back to point #1)..and the Natural Collection lip pencils were only £2 each, but I didn't like their shades or the texture much

What did I do? Where did I turn to?

EBAY!!!!! Yeeeeehhhh Buddy!!!

Just have a gander at this fabulousness...

Here are all 12 swatches (please ignore my unattractive dry looking hand)

These are my top 6 shades (in no particular order)...please excuse the shoddy lighting, it wasn't very bright outside so had to use unnatural lighting. Also, the shades don't have a name, they're just numbered so I'll make up my own

1. Nude

2. Barbie Pink

3. Deep Plum

4. Burnt Orange

   5. Oxblood

           and lastly

6. Ruby Woo "dupe"

Like every product, there will always be pros and cons so it's only fair to list them both:

Pros: * The colours are stunning, and has a wide variety of shades
          * Love the matte finish
          * Long lasting
          * Ridiculously good value for money

Cons: * My favourite shades are bound to run out soon so I'll have to buy another set (but that's not really a con now is it?)
            * The slightly dry texture means you have to apply lip balm before putting it on
            * Certain shades need to be built up

So after all this, guess how much it cost....go on....

Ok, I'll give you three be realistic here there are 12 of these epic lip pencils

A) £15.99
B) £2.59
C) £8.94

The answer is....B!!!! I know right, frickin epic!!!

Check it out, they've got even cheaper options:

Let me know what you think <3

P.S: My pleasure :-)

Outfit Of The Day: All Work And No Play

Hello hello hello....I'm going to try and keep this as short as possible because I am all kinds of tired and when I reach a certain level of fatigue, the filter between my brain and mouth/hands (in the context of typing/texting etc...not inappropriateness) diminishes... I've probably mentioned this many a time but just thought I'd let you know in case you are a new visitor :-)

So, today I went to work. This is what I wore. Minus the coat (that is on my wishlist). Really should have taken a photo without it but what can you do??

Coat: Miss Selfridge
Striped Top: H&M
Shorts: Miss Selfridge
Tights: Either New Look or House of Holland
Shoes: Office

Also ever so quickly....I want these shoes...I want these shoes so bad

And this hat...It makes me feel ├╝ber snazzy in this weather :-)

Toodles x

Appreciation Post: Wake Me Up

This beautiful song is by Avicii ft Aloe Blacc, I loved the original and I came across this cover by Zack Knight which just brought a whole new meaning for me...Love it <3

Feeling my way through the darkness
Guided by a beating heart
I can't tell where the journey will end
But I know where to start

They tell me I'm too young to understand
They say I'm caught up in a dream
Well life will pass me by if I don't open up my eyes
Well that's fine by me

So wake me up when it's all over
When I'm wiser and I'm older
All this time I was finding myself
And I didn't know I was lost

I tried carrying the weight of the world
But I only have two hands
Hope I get the chance to travel the world
But I don't have any plans

Wish that I could stay forever this young
Not afraid to close my eyes
Life's a game made for everyone
And love is the prize

So wake me up when it's all over
When I'm wiser and I'm older
All this time I was finding myself
And I didn't know I was lost

Didn't know I was lost
I didn't know I was lost
I didn't know I was lost
I didn't know (didn't know, didn't know)

All About Weave/ Dyeing My Hair Blue

Hello my lovelies, I've said for a while that I'm going to do a hair post so here's the first of many to come

I decided to do this post now because I am ridiculously bored of my hair so want a change but I will explain that a little further down....where do I begin???? Ok.... here is a picture of my hair, that's a good starting point....My hair has pretty much looked exactly the same for the last few years apart from the time I had it short, and then bleached a section of it (Oh how I miss my ginger bit)

However, my hair has changed a lot since I was younger, I've had a bajillion nicknames because of it such as "Bob Marley", "Medusa" (was not pleased with that),  "Sponge-head", "Weavey"... there are a lot more but ain't nobody got time to be typing them all out. I used to have my natural hair out when I was younger and then I began to get braids, which led to twists, which eventually led to weaves/closures/wigs (don't be scared by the term "wigs"...I'll explain them to you in my next hair post). At the moment I am flipping between weaves and wigs depending on the weather/my laziness levels, work schedule

So, for those who don't know, a weave is it is basically a form of hair extensions which can be either sewn, clipped, or glued into the hair from the track.

These are what tracks look like:

Hair usually comes in either packets or bundles, normally I would use three bundles if I want full hair but you can use anything from 1+ depending on if you are just adding a few tracks or want a full and thick weave... there are some people that use 5+ but that's way to heavy/ hot for me..yep, it gets hot with all that hair on your head believe me!

The hair is usually braided according to individuals' braiding pattern choice (I usually have cornrows) to allow the wefts (tracks) to be sewn securely on. Here are a few different braiding patterns

Types of hair:

There are two main options of hair to purchase:

Human: Human hair, cut from a donor; within this category there are two subcategories which are:

Remy: Cut from the cuticle going in the same direction, however it has usually been processed (eg. dyed, have chemicals applied to it beforehand)

Virgin: Cut from the cuticle going in the same direction, but has not been processed

Synthetic: Made of synthetic hair fibres to resemble human hair

You can buy many different types of hair such as Malaysian, Indian, Peruvian, Brazilian, Mongolian, Chinese etc. I can go into much more detail on this in another post if any of you like because I don't want to make this post long.

Many people assume it's just a "black girl" thing to have weaves and extensions but most celebrities/well known people out there do in fact wear them from time to time, if not every day. Few examples being:

Cheryl Cole:

Jessica Simpson:

Vanessa Hudgens:

Kim Kardashian:

Jennifer Lopez:
Ohmygosh the list is can google it if you want more examples

My personal opinion on weaves/hair extensions is that everyone is different, some people like weaves, some don't; I know a few people that don't like girls with weaves or don't like wearing them but each to their own. I'm not ashamed of my natural hair, I am just slightly lazy, and like weaves whether they be afro weaves, straight weaves, curly or whatever..Everyone on this Earth is beautiful and so is their hair so enjoy it....I also like being able to dye my hair without damaging my actual hair....which brings me to my next topic...

I'M DYEING MY HAIR BLUE!!! WOOOP WOOP SO EXCITED!! I would love it to be an ombre' of blue going into teal so I'm going to have to make sure I mix my colours well...Got a lot of inspiration from Google/Instagram so I thought I may as well take the plunge. I would love to have it look like any of these

Anyways...I will keep you updated when I get down to it...I'll try and capture the process and do a separate post on that so be sure to keep an eye out on here, or on my Instagram just in case I pop it on there first
(It's Leeo7). Also, if you beauties have any tips for me then let me know :-)

All images were sourced from Google, there are a few that are probably from blogs but I just found them from using ye ol' Google search engine

Lesson Of The Week: #1 Stop Trying To Please Everyone

Oh good gosh I've missed blogging so bad!! I know I always say this but I have been ridiculously busy over the past few weeks...I've started my part time evening acting classes again (just got home from one now), and I'm on a bigger contract at work, plus I had a showcase to rehearse for and perform so it's been hectic!

I just thought of another idea for a post, I may make this a regular thing depending on if you lovelies like it or not. It'll be every Sunday by Gods' grace and will just be a post on any lesson I've learnt, or want to share with you guys...can be about beauty, life, clothes, food, whatever.

So to start this this classed as a series? Yeh, I think it is... anyway, to start this series of posts I give you...

Lesson 1: Stop trying to please everyone.

Yes this is a slightly random lesson to start on but I've been thinking about this a lot recently. It has taken me many many years to realise that you just can't please everyone, and the sooner you stop trying, the better. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying don't make people happy because to do that is one of the best feelings in the world, (aside from eating chocolate/chicken/crisps/bread/pasta/most food), but when you are compromising your own happiness for everyone else's you could be doing a disservice to yourself.

Here are 5 reasons why you need to stop trying to please everyone

1. Because you can''s impossible: There will always be someone who will not be satisfied with your best efforts and how far are you willing to go to satisfy them?
2. People may/will take advantage of you: If you allow them to, they will...and if you are blinded by the desire to please them, you won't notice when they do.
3. It's exhausting: It just is.
4. You will stop listening to your own needs, and take your happiness for granted
5. Because I said so. No but really, when it gets to the point that it is affecting your life for the worse, you need to stop.

Let me put this into context:

Let's say you are out with 4 of your told them all to bring some food with them because you're all going on a hike. They didn't. You have 2 pieces of chicken and you haven't eaten all morning because you were busy cleaning up the house as no-one else does, and were in a rush to pick your friends up in your car because they couldn't be bothered to drive. They all want a piece of your chicken although they ate earlier on, but you are starting to feel weak.....ok I really don't know where this is going...this sounds like some sort of maths equation. Fail. Anywaaayy, my point is

Sometimes you need to listen to those voices in your head and your heart, just do what makes you happy, and enjoy life. Like this adorable cat....I just wanted an excuse to put this cute picture up :-)
